‘Yule’ have a magical Christmas cottage holiday at the Mocketts Farm Cottages, set in the hideaway hamlet of Harty among the protected wild wetlands of Swale estuary and Kent’s Blue Flag coastline. The cottages can be hired individually or together to sleep from 4-51+ (not forgetting the dog), so whether your Christmas celebrations are small but merry or ‘oh come all ye faithful’, they’re the ideal backdrop to the most wonderful time of the year.

Our cottages are available for a set 7+ day period over Christmas and a set 5+ day period over New Year. Each comes with its own beautifully decorated, real Christmas tree, and although there’s no chimney, Father Christmas has his magic key at the ready…

Cooking a Cottage Christmas Dinner

Each cottage offers a well-equipped kitchen. Many also have open plan living, dining and kitchen areas, so you can cook your Christmas feast & still be 'present' for the day's fun. Local supermarkets deliver to the cottages for your festive essentials, and we can also supply cuts of our family-farmed beef on request. Finish the day by walking off your Christmas dinner exploring the wintry wonders of the Harty countryside.

Festive Things To Do

Christmas cottage holidays are all about quality time with loved ones. The laidback leisure opportunities at Harty offer the simple treasures that families cherish. Take frosty country walks in our beautiful surrounds (perfect for walking off your Christmas dinner), spotting our still-abundant winter wildlife. Owls and harriers on the hunt are a daily sight, with dawn and dusk at a much more friendly hour than in the summer months!

Festive Family Fun

At the cottages, wrap up and toast some marshmallows over your fire pit, or snuggle up indoors for family-favourite film and game nights. Those families with a competitive streak will love our large, shared games rooms, complete with table football, table tennis and a pool table, plus the cottage’s collection of board games.

The Ferry House

The Ferry House* - our country restaurant - is just a short stroll from the Mocketts Farm cottages. Festive dining and our ticketed New Year’s Eve Party are popular with cottage guests. However do be aware that it closes for around five days over Christmas to allow our staff to spend quality time with their families. You can find The Ferry House opening hours here.

New Year at Mocketts Farm

What a wonderful place to stay. We stayed in Fleet Lodge over the New Year, with friends. The ladies booked a massage, which was so enjoyable. Everything that we needed was provided. The New Years Eve party [at The Ferry House] was exceptional, with amazing fireworks to round off the evening. Would we stay again absolutely, we have celebrated several events over the years, staying at Harty as well as at Mocketts, and have been treated so well for all of them. Can’t recommend them highly enough. As one of our friends remarked “What a little Gem this is".
