A home away from home for all the family to enjoy secluded countryside living – that’s how we like to think of Mocketts Farm Cottages. Set on our working family farm and surrounded by the natural beauty of Kent, it’s the kind of place where you can truly switch off – peaceful, private, and surrounded by nature, yet only an hour from London.

Since 2010, we’ve managed the cottages as a family, creating relaxed, comfortable spaces that reflect the things we value most: time together, simple pleasures, and a slower pace of life.

Family-Run Holiday Cottages

Our family has lived and farmed in Harty for three generations, and that sense of belonging runs through everything we do. The cottages have been restored and run with care, and shaped by what matters most to us: shared meals, fresh air, and space to simply be together.

Whether you’re here for a big gathering or a quiet few days away, we’ve tried to make each cottage feel easy, comfortable, and welcoming – just as we’d want it for our own family.

A coast & country hideaway

Tucked away on the Isle of Sheppey, our cottages sit between open countryside and the sweeping Kent coast. From your doorstep, you’ll find quiet walking and cycling trails, abundant birdlife, and uninterrupted views in every direction.

It might feel like the middle of nowhere, but we’re closer than you think - just an hour from London, and within easy reach of Whitstable, Faversham, and Canterbury. So you can escape the everyday, without the long drive.

Each cottage is relaxed and comfortably kitted out, with everything you need to settle in and take things slow. Fully equipped kitchens make it easy to cook and share meals together, or you can fire up the BBQ fire pit outside - there’s wood and marshmallows ready and waiting.

Spend your time however you like: explore the quiet lanes on two wheels, take a stroll through the surrounding countryside, or just stay in and enjoy doing nothing at all.

The Ferry House

A short stroll from the cottages, The Ferry House is our 2AA Rosette restaurant - serving seasonal food with all the charm you'd expect of a countryside pub.

Menus celebrate produce from our kitchen garden, Harty beef raised on our family farm, and the best of what Kent has to offer. Settle in by the fire in winter, or soak up the views over a long lunch on the waterside terrace in summer.
